Dearest friends,

Dancing with Dwan Light Sanctuary, NM

I am looking forward to shifting the intention of my newsletter in the coming month! Moving forward I will be sharing brief consistent reflections on my research and artistic process.

This time of potent collective transformation is guiding me back into a state experimentation and listening. Rather than pressuring myself to create and share finished products, I hope to clear space for new ways of making that are aligned with the values I believe the world is asking for.

It excites me to connect with you in this way and If the sharing sparks something within you, I invite your reply and conversation.

Upcoming Screening!!!

Invisible Power will be screening at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in Strands of Identity: Excerpt and Guest Artists Screening Friday, August 23rd at 7pm.
In 2023, I was commissioned by Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage to create 5 dance films with Black artist across the UK. Invisible Power, conceived in Newcastle, is 1 of these 5 films. If you love someone in Salt Lake City, please invite them to this free evening of Black filmmaking curated by Irishia Hubbard Romaine.

Still from Invisible Power featuring Lauren Pinard and Igor Tavarez. Commissioned by Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage.

Past News

Dance Film Workshop
In June I facilitated a 3 day dance film workshop for the Contempora Summer dance intensive in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Together we watched dance film, journaled, meditated, improvised, filmed each other, and explored the limitless interweaving of dance and film. It was a gift to return the land I grew up with, and experience the wildly beautiful artistry that is stirring in the New Mexico dance community.

Directing Reel!
I recently updated my directing reel with the dance films I have been lucky to create over the past 5 years. Click the link below image below to view.

Wishing you ease!

With gratitude,
